Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Nimis
Jens Nimis is Professor of Informations Systems at the Faculty of Management Science and Engineering of the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. There he gives courses on all aspects of database systems and web technologies and continues his research on Big Data and Cloud Computing that he has started during his time at FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik at KIT.
With roots in databases and distributed systems Jens' fields of interest in general have evolved towards:
- Applications of and methods for modern flexible infrastructures and middleware, e.g. Cloud Computing, Fog Computing, Multiagent systems, NoSQL databases,...
- Systems for Big Data and data analytics
- Software architecture and design patterns
